AES a division of Lennox, was established in 1988 and is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation. We have recently expanded our capabilities as a single source supplier by adding a Mechanical Services Division as well as becoming a Misc. Steel manufacturer. These new services will reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors. Our focus will be to enhance the services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide. AES has 4 different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce their freight cost and shipment lead times.
Lennox AES has immediate positions available for a Commercial HVAC installer. An HVAC Installer works under the guidance of experienced HVAC technicians, Foremen, and Journeymen to learn and assist in the replacement and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on Commercial buildings. 60-70 hour work weeks
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in the installation and replacement of commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to travel throughout the U.S. on 3-to-4-week deployment cycles.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues.
- Perform routine tasks, such as changing filters and cleaning ducts.
- Help in the installation of HVAC components, including wiring and electrical connections.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects under the supervision of more senior employees.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have 1-3 year of experience in commercial HVAC equipment replacements including rooftop units, adapter curbs, HVAC electrical knowledge and construction safety.
- Ability to work overtime
- Willingness to travel: 100% (Required)
- Ability to work in outdoor elements (roofs) in hot and cold weather conditions.

Compensation
This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $22 – $31 /hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).

A service tech starts with a dispatch list and a truck loaded with common parts. You roll to no-cool calls, check the thermostat, measure refrigerant pressures, test the compressor and capacitor, and inspect the coil and blower. You explain the fault, quote the fix, and get approval before the repair.
Maintenance visits fill much of the shoulder seasons. You clean coils, change filters, flush drain lines, and check amperage so a system does not fail in the next heat wave. Install crews spend the day setting condensers and air handlers, running line sets and ductwork, and brazing connections. Customer trust matters because many repairs are invisible to the homeowner. You document readings, photograph the work, and close the ticket in the field. Expect heat, ladders, tight attics, and a lot of driving between calls, balanced by the satisfaction of restoring cool air on a hundred degree day.

Becoming a Licensed HVAC Technician in Texas
HVAC contracting is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and the license is held at the company level by a certified technician. Anyone who handles refrigerant needs federal EPA Section 608 certification. Many employers also value NATE certification, which raises pay. You can start as an installer helper with no license, earn your EPA card early, and build toward the ACR technician and then contractor license through documented experience and exams.
